Nail Supplies Inventory Control: Never Run Out Mid-Appointment Again

Nail Supplies Inventory Control: Never Run Out Mid-Appointment Again

Running out of base coat, top coat or files in the middle of the day is bad for the client and for your wallet: you buy in a rush, at a higher price, and lose time. Simple supply tracking fixes that and improves your pricing too.

1. List everything you use

Take inventory: polishes, gels, base and top coats, removers, files, cotton, sticks, gloves, disinfectants. Note brand, supplier, price paid and quantity.

2. Calculate cost per appointment

cost per appointment = product price ÷ number of appointments it provides

This number goes into the price of each service. A product that looks expensive may cost cents per appointment, and a cheap-looking one may weigh more than you think. See how it fits in how to price your services.

3. Set a “minimum level”

For each key item, decide the quantity at which it is time to restock (for example, when one unit is left). That way you buy calmly instead of when it runs out.

4. Build the shopping list through the week

Instead of remembering at the store, write the item down as soon as you notice it running low. When you go to the supplier, the list is ready and you avoid extra trips and impulse buys.

5. Compare suppliers

Buying in bulk can lower the cost per appointment, but only if you use the product before it expires or spoils. Always compare the cost per appointment, not just the package price.
